Sangin'

My kids inherited my husband’s musical talent—thank God! Practically from the time they could talk, they were singing. That came in handy on trips to see my husband’s parents who never lived closer than four hours away. We always drove beater cars with broken CD players (Remember those?)  So we would turn on the radio and sing along with anything. My kids learned to appreciate all kinds of music, and we didn’t have to listen to, “She touched me,” “He’s poking me,” and “Are we there yet?”

Singing always made the trip go faster!  It’s not just true about the trip to Grandma’s. It’s true about the journey of life as well. The Lord God, the Creator of the Universe, the One who put the stars in place, who spun the planets in their orbit, the One who knows every cell in your body—SINGS OVER YOU!

If you ever doubt God’s love or question that He’s is in your corner read Zephaniah 3:17, “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

Did you catch the last line: “He will rejoice over you with singing (or sangin’ if you are from the South!)

I don’t know what you’re dealing with today-

being cut off in traffic, belittled by your boss, misunderstood by your best friend, misrepresented by your teenage daughter and you keep wondering when is she going to rise up an call you blessed?

Know that the Lord sings over you. I think that makes you pretty special Don’t you?
