Resolutions

Whatever you decided to embrace for your New Year’s resolutions—to move more and eat less, to finally start that new hobby or to give up the old one that is draining your bank account, to make new friends or to nurture the ones you have (check out our latest post on Answers From Mom and Dad), I hope you put being more grateful on your list.

I was reading Colossians this week and noticed this recurring theme.

Colossian 2:6-7, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Colossians 3:15, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

Colossians 3:16, “ Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

Colossians 4:2, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

I think the Apostle Paul wants to make sure the Colossians remember be grateful! I think God wants us to remember that too. Gratitude can change our attitude, our mood, and even our brains.  I believe if we all lived with grateful hearts, it could change the world. That’s my New Year’s resolution. What’s yours?
