Good Advice From a Founding Father

Happy July 4th

As we celebrate the birthday of our nation, I here are some insights from one of our founding fathers. While Thomas Jefferson wasn’t a total paragon of virtue, here is some advice worth heeding

Thomas Jefferson’s Decalogue

  1. 1.  Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
  2. 2.  Never trouble another with what you can do yourself.
  3. 3.  Never spend your money before you have it.
  4. 4.  Never buy what you don’t want because it’s cheap.
  5. 5.  Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst, and cold.
  6. 6.  We never repent for having eaten too little.
  7. 7.  Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly.
  8. 8.  We suffer so much worry for evils which never happen.
  9. 9.  Take things always by their smooth handle.

10.When angry, count to ten before you speak. If you are very angry, count to 100.

(If you’re me, make it 2000!)
