Fixed

Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”

Sometimes I want my problems fixed, but God will often use my problems to get me to fix my eyes on Him. When I am troubled by something, He can more easily get my undivided attention. How about you?

If our minds are filled with fear thoughts, defeat thoughts, resentment thoughts, we are bound to be in a state of mental unrest, even turmoil. And those thoughts will, of course, crowd out any peace thoughts.

This passage reminds us to practice thinking about the Lord, to keep our minds “stayed” or fixed, not on our troubles but on God. There are so many things in life that we have no choice in, but we get to choose what we think about.

Try to keep your mind on Christ for as many minutes during the day as possible. This may be difficult at first, but the more we practice His presence, the easier it becomes to focus on Him. And the more rewarding that behavior becomes causing us to want to practice it more.  I’m still practicing it and it’s so worth it!

Also, I am looking for a “Street Team,” to help me launch the book I wrote with my therapist sister. I would love to have you read the first three chapters and send me a review. If I get enough reviews ahead of the publishing date, I can get the book on Bookbub and give this message exposure to readers needing the Lord. Shoot me an email and I will send you the chapters. I appreciate your help.

Here is the title and summary of the book.
