12 Ways to Turn Your Pain into Praise

Sapphires from Psalms

Better Than Jewels

In her book Jesus Calling, author Sarah Young writes in the first person as if Jesus is addressing the reader. Here is a favorite quote from her book, Christ’s words to me...

Be still in my presence even though countless tasks clamor for you attention. Nothing is as important as spending time with me.

Psalm 37: 7 states,  “Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.”

It is always so much easier for me to wait patiently for him to act when I have spent time soaking in the peace I can find in His presence! When I can idle down and surrender my agenda to Him and His agenda, I feel His unconditional love and bask in His peace. Then I have what it takes to wait on Him for answers to life’s constant issues. As for me, I am going to mosey out to my deck and sit a spell. How about you?

Thank you for your words of encouragement! When I put God on my personal agenda each day my days go forward with direction from Him! But often life gets in the way and I push time with him out of my schedule. Thanks for the reminder to take time in His word!

My church gave each woman in Sunday School a copy of Jesus Calling devotional journal in April 2013. Sarah Young’s first person writing spoke to me like no other devotional reading. I am drawn to read my Bible in chapters, not just verses. Psalm 40:6 Be still and know that I am God draws me to my porch to ponder & listen for the LORD’s whisper. Linda, thank you for coming to CWC State Convention in Springfield, Missouri And challenging me to be an “intentional” Christian. Keep those encouraging emails and answersfrommomanddad coming. Loving Jesus too. Roberta aka Robbie
