12 Ways to Turn Your Pain into Praise

Sapphires from Psalms

Better Than Jewels

I know of so many people praying for answers they have yet to receive. I especially think of mother’s during this Mother’s Day week who are praying for their sick, stuck or strong-willed kids, mom’s who are waiting for an answer to the concerns that keep them up at night.

In the words of Henry Blackaby, “You can respond to the silence of God in two ways. One response is for you to go into depression, a sense of guilt, and self-condemnation. The other response is for you to have expectation that God is about to bring you to a deeper knowledge of Himself. These responses are as different as night and day.”

I want to have the latter response and wait patiently for God to respond. I want to take my cues from the Psalmist. Psalm 40:1-3, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.

Happy Mother’s Day to caring, praying moms. Don’t give up. We need you.
